The Project: This financial planning company needed a straightforward “brochure” website. They wanted to showcase their servicess, to have a presence on the internet, and to provide contact information to current and prospective clients.
The Challenge: As is often the case, the client was so “close to what they did” that they had trouble describing their services in concise written form. While they had an intimate appreciation for the many facets of their business, they were less sure about how to tell that story, or how to even make time to try.
The Solution: I created a content inventory of the already-existing marketing materials (including the existing website), and organized that content into a rough draft “site map”. When compared to their business objectives, gaps in the story appeared. Through focused content meetings and the help of a terrific writer who I have worked with for several years, we were able to flesh out the story as the client wanted it to be told.
